Vital Signs Measurements
With ViTALS, you can connect your vital signs monitor with AMiS, providing full connection to the EHR system. The vital signs observations are automatically stored in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This reduces the risk of mistakes. By integrating the measurement device on the AMiS, the nursing workflow can be optimized. Nurses are not forced to use multiple mobile stands any more. Additionally, they have to log in and scan the patient wristband only once.

EHR-integration with AMiSconnect
The AMiSconnect ViTALS software enables a direct connection of the vital signs measurement device to the EHR system. Nurses start the software directly from the EHR-system, without additional log-in or patient identification. The software retrieves the patient’s vital signs observations from the device and presents them on the AMiS monitor. The nurse can enter additional standard parameters like the pain score or the responsiveness, validate the measurements and store them automatically in the correct patient file in the EHR. With AMiSconnect vital signs monitoring will be smarter, faster and safer.
Early Warning Score
AMiSconnect facilitates automatic calculation of the Early Warning Score (EWS). The measured values are retrieved from the measurement device. The nurse can manually enter additional standard parameters like the Pain Score and the Respiratory Rate. After validation by the nurse, the measurements are automatically stored in the EHR. The Early Warning Score is automatically calculated by the EHRsystem and presented on the AMiS monitor.

Integrate vital signs measurements on AMiS
The vital measurement equipment can be efficiently integrated on the AMiS clinical carestation. Nurses only need one cart during the nursing round, instead of carrying multiple carts. This leads to efficient nursing rounds and significant time-saving. As only one device needs to be charged and maintained, more efficient equipment management can be done and less space is required for storing the medical equipment on the nursing wards.
Traditional process vs Optimal process
Traditional example
- Nurse uses two seperate carts
- Measured values are manually typed in EHR with a high risk of mistakes
- Delay in availability of measurements
AMiS–PRO + AMiSconnect
- Nurse has all functionalities in one cart
- Measured values automatically stored in the correct EHR
- Measured values are directly available in the correct EHR
Benefits
Up to 15 minutes time saving per nurse per shift

Frequently asked questions
Can all vital signs measurement devices be connected?
Yes. The AMiSconnect platform allows easy connection of multiple brands of vital signs measurement equipment. Please contact us with your specific type of device for more information.
In which Electronic Patient Records can the vital signs measurements automatically stored?
For storage of the vital signs measurements AMiSconnect ViTALS uses standardized HL7 communication. This enables easy and convenient integration in all modern EPR systems.
We use AMiS already. Can we still integrate the vital signs measurement devices on existing carts?
Yes, vital signs equipment can be integrated at any time on an AMiS. Please contact us for more information.
